Passing-by object removal by using several time-series images

(in English) When taking pictures of scenery and architecture in a sightseeing spot, it often happens that the tourists visiting there unexpectedly appears in the camera frame. In order to solve such problems, we proposed a method to remove passing-by objects, such as visitors, vehicles, etc. in the picture, by using several temporally successive images (time-series images). Furthermore, assuming the implementation on the digital camera and smart phone, the proposed method is supposed to compensate the global motion between frames and achieve object removal even in the situation of camera motion. We did some object removal experiments by using the time-series images taken by a smartphone camera, and verified that the proposed method can remove the passing-by objects successfully, even in the unfixed-camera situations.
