A Proposal of Inter-BSS Cooperative Radio Resource Management for Centralized WLAN Systems in Overlapping BSS Environments

(in English) To enhance a throughput and satisfy quality of service (QoS) requirement of WLAN stations in overlapping basic service set (OBSS) enviroment, this paper proposes a inter-BSS cooperative radio resource management scheme. In the proposed scheme, multiple BSSs are organized into a group and share the radio resource based on a centralized control by a master AP. Master AP collects channel state information (CSI) and traffic states information (TSI) by receiving control frames from group members to adaptively allocates orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) sub-channels to the stations. Numerical simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme can enhance throughput by dynamic resource allocation using frequency reuse and it is also effective to guarantee QoS requirement by avoiding inter-BSS competition especially in dense BSS deployments scenario.
