In this paper, we proposed the phase modulation patterns optimization method of a Liquid Crystal On Silicon (LCOS) for optical switches in optical communication networks by using Computer generated hologram (CGH) which enables low crosstalk. Thereby modeling adjacent pixel interference in a LCOS, the proposed method can suppress the crosstalk to very low level of about -30 dB. Moreover, the experimental results of a multicast function, which splits a same wavelength signal into multiple ports in a 1x8 WSS wavelength selective switch (WSS) show that proposed method realized very low crosstalk. |
