A Large Graph Segmentation Method for Triangle Counting

(in English) We previously proposed a breadth-first-search (BFS) triangle counting method to fast get the triangle counts of a graph. Aware of the machine memory limitation, in this work, we propose an effective way to segment the large-scale graph for triangle counting, by partially using the data connection relationship inside the graph. After segmentation, edges that connect vertices in different segments are required to be processed for multiple times to get the final correct triangle number. Compared to a previous simple segmentation method, under the limitation that the memory holds 1.5 millions edges at maximum, our method reduces the re-processing of edges by 46%. With this reduction, we reduce the time of triangle counting from 170s to 129s for a given graph.
