Micro Earth Sensor Assembly (MESA) was developed with COTS based thermopile arrays, which is applied in air conditioner generally used by many homes.Signals from the thermopile are processed as digital signals, therefore many algorithm can be applied to data processing to obtain high accuracy in spite of the infrared energy distribution of the Earth.
MESA was launched to Sun-synchronous orbit at the altitude of 628 km with the micro satellite named ‘SOCRATES’
on May 24, 2014. Performance of MESA is verified on the fright operation .The verification result is excellent and it is shown that MESA is sufficient equipment supplying both roll and pitch attitude information for small or micro satellite. |
