NTT has utilized various wireless systems to resume network facilities rapidly in a wide area of disaster and we have developed the VHF band wireless system for network business operation. It has been digitalized to utilize radio resources of a frequency band efficiently and has been added various new functions, for example position information management system between mobile stations and a position management server. This paper describes the radio transmission protocols and new functions of this system. It also describes field trial results for the purpose of wireless area designing. We show the evaluation results of the coverage areas of a base station and a wireless repeater station by comparing some propagation models with experimental results. |
