A Study on Wireless High-Speed Control Communication System for Industrial Robot Control Application

(in English) Recently, there has been a much demand for industrial wireless communication system for factory automation.We can categorize the current wireless standards for industrial wireless communication system into two main types - IEEE 802.15 and IEEE 802.11standard.In this research, we develop an industrial wireless communication system using the IEEE 802.11 standard.In a previous work, we have proposed a system with only 80[MHz] bandwidth.However, in the case of many other STAs in same radio environment it may be difficult to ensure the use of 80[MHz] bandwidth constantly.In this paper, we add a mechanism which changes the bandwidth of our system corresponding to the radio environment.According to the evaluation result, our system can control 32 total number of STAs within 2.01[ms].This shows that a minimum of time per STA is 62.8[$mu$s].This value is about 16 times faster than the fastest wireless mode of PROFINET wireless communication system and is fast enough for use with motion control applications.
