A Novel ZVS Class-D Direct-Current-Resonance Wireless Power Transfer with GaN FETs Operated in 6.78MHz

(in English) A novel ZVS class-D direct-current-resonance wireless power transfer with GaN FETs operated in 6.78MHz is proposed. A direct-current resonance system is an energy conversion system, which makes the electromagnetic resonance field from a direct current and uses a resonance field with an electromagnetic interaction. A new technique called the periodic state dividing method is proposed in order to analyze energy conversion operation. We clarify the system characteristics by use of the proposed unified analysis method for the resonance coupling. In order to reduce the power loss in the 3rd quadrant operation peculiar to GaN FET, the optimum ZVS operation technology with dead time adjustment technique is newly developed. In the experiment, the unprecedented, overwhelmingly high DC-DC power efficiency 89.5% and the output 22.4W are attained.
