[Poster Presentation] A Study on Undesired Spectrum Detection Method with FFT

(in English) The cognitive radio (CR) system utilizes a vacant spectrum (white space) in the coexistence environment with the existing primary system. We assume the cognitive node detects the white space by using an energy detection with fast Fourier transform (FFT) over wideband spectrum. In this paper, the CR system uses the aggregated carriers, performing the energy detection at each FFT bin. However, in this case, the CR node cannot distinguish the desired signal, which is transmitted within its own network, because the undesired primary signal is included in the received spectrum at the CR node. Then we consider the energy detection method for easily distinguishing the undesired spectrum from the received spectrum by using the wideband FFT according to the characteristics of the undesired signal. The CR receiver can erase the undesired signal from the results of the energy detection of each FFT bin by distinguishing it. Here, we assume that the undesired signal is Bluetooth signal and the desired signal is a narrowband signal. In this paper, we evaluate the detection performance by using the computer simulation.
