Study on Multi-valued Magneto-optic Three-dimensional Display with Magnetic Garnet Film

(in English) The holographic display can represent real 3D images without any special glasses. A key characteristic of holographic display is viewing angle that depends on pixel pitch of spatial light modulator: SLM. We have studied the magneto-optic three-dimensional (3D) display (3D-MOSLM)with a viewing angle of 30 degrees or more. Typical display can display multi-valued information at each pixel,however conventional 3D-MOSLM can't show multi-valued information because magnetic pixels have only binary infomation. In this paper,we proposed a 3D-MOSLM with multi-valued pixels by controlling writing energy. First we measured magneto-optic effect and diffraction efficiency versus the writing light energy. From these results, we wrote magnetic pattern with multi-valued pixels and represented 3D images.
