A discrete event system, DES for short, makes state transitions by discrete occurrences of events.System behavior is modelled as the composition of a plant and a supervisor, where the plant models the reactive behavior and the supervisor controls the plant. The supervisory control is constructed so that the plant satisfies a specification described as a formal language. Controllablity with respect to the specification is defined as the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a supervisor. Even if a specification is not controllable with respect to the plant, the supremal controllable sub-specification can be derived. We propose a method to derive the supremal controllable sub-specifications using MaxSAT solvers by declaratively encoding the controllable problem as the partial maximum satisfiablity problem. We argue that our method may be applied as a verification for DES behavior models by showing the experimental result for small examples. |
