Amorphous selenium (a-Se) is a promising material for high-sensitivity photodetector due to its high spatial resolution, response speed, as well as sensitivity enhancement utilizing carrier multiplication effect. The physics of carrier multiplication effect is, however, still far from complete understanding. In this study, carrier multiplication in a-Se is demonstrated, and electric field across a-Se was estimated to clarify the mechanism of carrier multiplication in a-Se. |
