Study on decoding complexity reduction of chaos MIMO transmission scheme by applying M-algorithm

(in English) Chaos multiple-input multiple-output (C-MIMO) scheme is a wireless transmission scheme in which both of encryption and channel coding are obtained by a random block modulation based on chaos signal and rate-1 channel coding for the chaos modulation. C-MIMO will be suitable for safer communication of internet of things (IoT) devices. However, because C-MIMO needs the maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) in the receiver and the decoding complexity is exponentially increased for the number of MIMO transmit antenna Nt and the block length B. By this reason, the configuration of C-MIMO is limited to around Nt=2 and B=4, resulting in the limitation of channel coding gain. Therefore, in this paper, to extend the block length and to enhance the channel coding gain, we propose a chaos MIMO scheme applying M-algorithm in the receiver for the reduction of decoding calculation complexity. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by computer simulations and it is shown that the decoding can be conducted in which the decoding complexity does not depend on B, and that the bit error rate performance is improved from low Eb/N0 region with increased B, compared to the conventional schemes.
