Power Budget Enhancement of WDM/TDM-PON System Utilizing Compact Burst Type EDFA

(in English) In order to realize the future optical wireless fusion network, we proceed with the study of virtualized optical access network based on WDM/TDM-PON. The total capacity of WDM/TDM-PON system reaches more than 40Gbps by increasing the number of applied wavelengths. This system can utilize the signal of multi wavelengths flexibly and assign a band of total capacity 40Gbps depending on the situation of the network efficiently. In order to reduce the operating cost, PON system is required the consolidation office and the aggregation OLT. Therefore, long distance transmission and multiple branching are required for WDM/TDMPON. We improved the power budget of WDM/TDM-PON system utilizing compact burst type EDFA to increase the number of users and extend the transmission distance. Dispersion compensation implemented by using equalizer enabled to suppress the power penalty caused by waveform degradation.
