Performance Evaluation of Device Discovery Time in Bluetooth LE with Probabilistic Model Checking

(in English) Pairing in Bluetooth consumes electric energy each device discovery.
Since almost all Bluetooth peripherals are battery-powered, they should be dicovered rapidly and thier energy consumption should be estimated in advance to design their networks.
However, it is intractable to estimate the longest device discovery time in Bluetooth precisely with Monte-Calro simulations or mathmatical analysis.
In this manuscript, the longest device dicovery time in Bluetooth LE is found with a probabilistic model checking tool, PRISM.
The results show that the device dicovery time in Bluetooth LE is shorter than that in Bluetooth BR.
