We propose a tractable and general model for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) heterogeneous networks (HetNets), which utilizing fractional frequency reuse (FFR) technique. As Poisson point process (PPP) can naturally capture the randomness of the BSs’ locations and derive very tractable analytic results, which is used to modeled HetNets in this work. Since HetNets experience serious cross-tier interference, FFR, as an interference management technique, is found as a suitable solution. Furthermore, MIMO technique is also applied in the HetNets. In this work, we derive tractable expressions of coverage probability under both open and closed access schmes, and show the simulation results. We also discuss the impact of the main parameters on the coverage probabilities. |
