The number of WLAN devices has risen sharply in recent times and has led to high-density wireless networks with frequent interference. To solve this problem, a number of methods involving transmission power and carrier sense threshold control have been investigated. We have proposed a scheme of using attenuators to realize inversely proportional setting of transmission power and carrier sense threshold. This inversely proportional setting solves the unfairness problem caused by variable transmission power or variable carrier sense threshold. This paper describes a testbed for using attenuators, and the experiment on the testbed demonstrates that the proposed method results in significant improvement in the aggregated throughput of two transmitter-receiver pairs. |
