[Poster Presentation] A Study on Power Saving by Sampling Interval Control of Wake-up Receiver in ROD-SAN

(in English) We proposed a novel Radio-On-Demand Sensor and Actuator Networks(ROD-SAN) system architecture which allows the efficient use of electrical power and the improvement of response time in Wireless Sensor and Actuator Node. The ROD-SAN’s node is equipped with an ultra-low power Wake-up Receiver that provides an on-demand operation by promptly replying to Wake-up Signal. In this paper, we propose a Wake-up method that can set the frame length sampling interval of the Wake-up Receiver to an optimal value according to the number of frames transmitted by each node. In addition, we compare the power consumption and response time of the proposed method with those of the IEEE 802.15.4e.
