[Poster Presentation] Theoretical Analysis of Bit Error Rate in Circular Polarized Optical Wireless OFDM system

(in English) In optical wireless Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), the system that separates an OFDM signal into positive- and negative-polarity signals and transmits these signals has good power efficiency. In such systems, the receiver must combine the separated signals. At that time, as a noise-reduction method, the amplitudes of two signals are compared, and the signal with the larger amplitude is used as the received signal. The estimation of bit error rate (BER) by computer simulation requires an enormous amount of time in order to obtain the BER with high accuracy. In the present paper, in order to easily obtain the BER, we herein report a theoretical analysis method. We classify the noise into three types, and derive the variance of each noise theoretically. Furthermore, we find the sum of these variances that considers correlation, and derive BER. We compare the results of the theoretical analysis with those of the simulations and demonstrate the validity of the theoretical formula.
