Multi-Band Charactersitics of Double Layered FSS Using Patch Type and Grid Type FSSs

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) FSS(Frequency Selective Surface) is composed of metal patches arranged at narrow intervals, and has space filtering characteristics which reject or pass specific frequency-band. A method for designing flexible and simple construction is desired when FSS with multi-band characteristics is designed.
In this paper, filtering characteristics of double layered FSS using patch type and grid type FSSs are discussed. They are components of loop slot type FSS which operates as BPF(Band Pass Filter). It was clarified by the simulation that the double layered FSS operates as multi-band BPF, which has single-band BPF when it is composed of single layer. Moreover, pass band characteristics and BP frequency ratio of double layered FSS were found.
