A proposal and an evaluation of system update methods without service interruption in public cloud services

(in English) The utilization of public cloud computing services is increasing in recent years. Many public cloud service providers utilize OpenStack software to build IaaS systems. OpenStack is open source software and developed by the community that many organizations and many individuals participate in. New version of OpenStack is released at intervals of six months and only 2 latest versions are maintained. Therefore system update methods without service interruption are necessary for public cloud service providers who want to keep the systems up to date. This paper proposes system update methods without service interruption in public cloud services and shows the evaluation of proposed update methods. Furthermore, we describe some problematic issues which were newly found on above evaluation. As the future works, we will solve the issues by cooperating with the OpenStack community.
