Recognition Accuracy Improvement of QR Code by Using GMD Decoding

(in English) In recent years, two-dimensional codes typified by QR code is used in various scenes such as in medical prescription and airplane ticket in addition to the conventional applications. With the expanding application, there are some QR codes that can’t be read by the conventional scheme. Considering the situation that QR code is more common, improving encoding scheme isn't realistic. Hence, improving only decoding scheme is needed to read unreadable QR codes. In general, Euclidean decoding algorithm is employed in decoding scheme. On the other hand, we propose new decoding scheme employing GMD decoding in this paper. Then, we show the proposed scheme is more useful in recognition accuracy than conventional scheme employing Euclidean decoding algorithm. In addition, the proposed scheme is applicable for any other two-dimensional codes employing RS code.
