We have been developing optical beam forming network (BFN) system with advantage that it has broadband performance and small circuit even if the system has a few hundred of antenna element. Using this system, realization of platform of future satellite communications with affinity for social infrastructure (traffic, Internet, and energy network) is expected. In this paper, we reported demonstration of optical down-conversion function for receiving optical beam forming network. This BFN has two optical phase locking functions. One of them is the function to lock relative phase of each antenna element, and another is phase locking between two optical sources (Signal and local light) to down convert (D/C) received frequency from 18GHz to 3GHz. |
