A Linear Impedance Transformer without Mutual Inductance and Its Minimum Configuration

(in English) Magnetic transformers play important roles in electric power conversion equipment. Magnetic trans- formers are mainly employed to obtain galvanic isolations and voltage transformations, or in other words, impedance transformations. The impedance transformation obtained by a magnetic transformer has a notable features such that the transformation ratio is kept constant even when the load impedance is changed. In this paper, we focus on this feature, and propose LC circuits whose transformation ratio is independent from the load impedance like a magnetic transformer. The proposed LC circuits do not contain any magnetic transformers or mutual inductances, so they can avoid or reduce unexpected effects which is inevitable in magnetic transformers such as core loss and flux leakage. We reveal available configurations of the proposed LC circuits and their minimum configurations, and verify their impedance transform functions by simulations and experiments.
