In this report, we investigate the influence of the camera angle on work efficiency in a remote control system with free-viewpoint video and haptic media by experiment.
To be compared with free-viewpoint video, we also handle the remote control system with stereoscopic video and 2D video instead of free-viewpoint video.
In our experiment, we deal with work in which a user teleoperates a haptic interface device (PHANToM Omni) while watching video and moves the tip of the PHANToM stylus to the specified position of height or depth.
As a result, we demonstrate that work efficiency of free-viewpoint video is higher than that of 2D and stereoscopic videos, and the best camera angle exists when we use free-viewpoint video. |
