Performance evaluation of a dual transmission protocol over wireless LANs

(in English) Network supported remote vehicle controls are expected to be a valuable technology for efficient future society. Our research target is to develop a cost effective real time control technique utilizing broadband wireless network infrastructure which is widely used for variety of broadband Internet applications on smart phones and personal computers. A key to realize such controls is highly reliable data links that can achieve very small packet transmission delay and packet loss ratio. In order to improve transmission performance of broadband wireless access networks, e.g. cellular networks and wireless LANs, we have already presented a dual transmission method utilizing plural independent transmission channels simultaneously. In this paper, we present novel evaluation results of our proposed method with network simulator of ns-3. Those numerical simulation results show effectiveness of our proposal that reduces both packet transmission delays and packet loss ratios.
