Implementation of Parallel Processing of Chaos Hybrid Optimization for Quadratic Assignment Problem

(in English) Effectiveness of chaotic dynamics for combinatorial optimization has been shown by many previous researches. In this paper, we implement a chaotic hybrids method, which combines a chaotic local search method and a global search using the GA, on a parallel processor to execute the optimization algorithm efficiently. This optimization algorithm is based on the genetic hybrid algorithms that combines the GA and the robust taboo search. The genetic hybrid algorithm has very high performance and has discovered the best known solutions of many benchmark quadratic assignment problems. The performance of this algorithm can be improved by extending it to the chaotic taboo search. Good solutions distributed globally searched by the GA can be improved by the neighboring area search of the chaos taboo search. On serial processing, each good solution found by the GA is
improved one by one, by the chaotic search. On the other hand, those solution improvements can be executed simultaneously in parallel, and it is possible to reduce the execution time significantly. We implement the chaotic hybrid algorithm on a GPU, and show the performance of the algorithm can be improved by the parallel processing.
