With improvement of the mobile technology such as the smartphones, the tablets and mobile access points (APs), the Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) based on IEEE 802.11 standard have been spreading rapidly. Also, the multi-rate data transmission is used in WLAN based on IEEE 802.11 standard. Here, the throughput prediction of an AP in the multi-late environment (the amount of receipt data size including retransmission packets at AP) is one of very important issues for the network design. For example, it affects the AP placement problem and AP enlargement problem. The previous studies estimated the AP, throughput in the multi-rate environment by harmonic average of terminals' transmission rate and needed the distance from the AP to all users. Thus, it has complexity of linear order computation. So far, we have proposed the throughput predicting method of AP considering the station distribution for the purpose of reducing calculation cost. Our method selects properly predictive formulas depending on the distribution of the terminal. However, we have not proposed the selection mechanism of prediction formulas. In this paper, we propose an adaptive selection mechanism of prediction formulas for throughput prediction method. |
