Measurement of heat capacity per unit volume of the biological tissue exposed to ultrasound -- Phantom experiments --

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have focused on the heat capacity per unit volume of the biological tissue for ultrasonic tissue characterization. Since a cancer cell generates heat more than a normal cell, the heat capacity per unit volume is one of the parameter for tissue characterization. In this study, we propose the method for measurement of the heat capacity per unit volume by temperature elevation, when the biological tissues are exposed to ultrasonic waves. The feasibility of this method was discussed by the phantom experiments.
