Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have attracted much attention as a nonlinear optical material. We have fabricated an SWCNT-embedded Si slot waveguide to apply a nonlinear optical property of this material to optical device, and its optical property was investigated. Due to enhance optical interaction with dispersed and miniaturized SWCNTs in the slot, a fundamental saturable absorption was successfully observed. |
