Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In order to realize the 5G radio access network with high bit rate and large capacity, super high bit rate transmission is being investigated by employing both smell cells using higher frequency bands based on the Phantom Cell concept and a Massive MIMO base station. In the previous study, performance comparisons between Massive MIMO OFDM and Massive MIMO SC-FDMA in 20 GHz band 20 Gbps transmission have been made by computer simulations with the influence of nonlinear distortion caused by power amplifiers, which clarifies that the former can achieve the higher throughput. This paper shows performances of peak-to-average power ratio and throughput under the influence of nonlinear distortion in the Massive MIMO OFDM using 256 transmitter antennas and 16 multiplexed streams, when rank adaptation and adaptive modulation and coding with 256QAM, which is vulnerable to the nonlinear distortion, are used. In addition, as requirements on the power amplifier for realizing the 20 Gbps transmission, required linearity parameter and input back off are clarified in terms of throughput and out-of-band radiation, when time windowing with raised cosine pulse is employed.
