Study on electric power saving scheme in smart grid using exact location with Ultla Wide-Band signals

(in English) All nuclear power plants have stopped and the efficient use of electricity and electric power saving are required in Japan today. Smart grid (next generation energy network) is a technique enabling to solve this problem. To construct a smart house and smart building in smart grid, home energy management system (HEMS), building energy management system (BEMS) controlling and managing the energy are indispensable. One of the strong schemes to further improve HEMS and BEMS performance is a utilization of the location information of persons. By allocating the energy preferentially to electric equipment near the person, more efficient energy consumption is achieved. However, the utilization of centimeter-order location information for smart grid has not been studied yet. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an electric power saving scheme of indoor lighting controlled with an accurate localization using ultra wide-band (UWB) signals. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated through computer simulations.
