(in English) A multi band frequency cooperative wireless systems, which utilizes microwave band (2.4/5GHz) WLAN in combination with millimeter wave (60GHz) WLAN, is proposed to achieve both multi-Gbps ultra-high-speed transmission and stable operation. As a multi-band mobile terminal needs to have multiple-radio parts, it is necessary to discover the coverage area of millimeter wave band WLAN by using micro-wave WLAN signals to save its power consumption for longer battery lifetime and improve spectrum efficiency. This report describes signal processing with diversity techniques to improve detection accuracy of 60GHz band WLAN service area by using microwave signals and compares performance of a peak power detection scheme and a power averaging scheme by computer simulations.
