Study of Channel Prediction for Multi-user MIMO Precoding System
Toshiki Tanaka, Hidekazu Murata (Kyoto Univ.) RCS2014-42
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems are able to increase the capacity of wireless systems as long as channel state information (CSI) is available at the transmitter, so that the spatial properties of the channel can be exploited by precoding.
However, in time varying channels, the transmission performance of MU-MIMO systems is degraded because CSI is outdated due to feedback delay and inter-user interference is not well suppressed.
Considering this scenario, channel prediction can provide up-to-date CSI and reduce inter-user interference.
Simulation results show that the transmission performance is improved in time varying channels.
