Configuration of Dipole Antenna with PMC Reflector

(in English) The low-profile and high gain antenna can be realized by using an AMC (Artificial Magnetic Conductor) as the reflector that has the PMC (Perfect Magnetic Conductor). However, there are many factors such as effects on the antenna with the AMC reflector. Thus, deriving the optimum configuration of the antenna with the AMC reflector is difficult.
This paper describes the effect of the size of the surface with PMC characteristics and the ground plane by using ideal PMC in FDTD analysis. As the result, it was clarified that the distance between the PMC and the ground plane didn’t depend on the size of PMC with the high directive gain. Moreover, it is shown that the ground plane size depend on the directive gain and the optimum PMC size. In addition, the dipole antenna with the AMC reflector was designed from the optimum configuration of the dipole antenna with the PMC reflector. The directive gain of 11dBi was obtained.
