[Encouragement Talk] Privacy-Preserving Data Mining with Perturbation for Multidimensional Data
Shunsuke Aoki, Kaoru Sezaki (Univ. of Tokyo) ASN2014-37
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) With the rapid spread of utilization of personal data in cyber and physical world, privacy-preserving data mining becomes an active area of research. In existing schemes, however, we have never realized the appropriate schemes for treating with multidimensional data, since it is important for data mining that the correlation between dimensions in a data set should be preserved faithfully. In this paper, we review a critical vulnerability of state-of-the-art schemes in which a malicious attacker may restore users' sensitive information from the perturbed data through long-term monitoring attacks. To overcome such vulnerability, we propose a privacy-preserving data minig scheme, in which all sensed data are processed twice.
