In the image quality assessment, SSIM and PSNR, that are representative physical assessment, are not dependent on characteristics of images. However, the subjective assessment is influenced by the specific object in images. In this study, we propose a physical assessment method according to the subjective assessment, the combination of PSNR and the saliency map, assesses visual attentions. To examine the validity of the proposed method, we assessed degraded images by subjects. It had higher correlation than SSIM and PSNR had. In addition, the results show the conditions under which the proposed method is closest to the results of subjective assessment, in which skewness and kurtosis of the Fourier spectrum are used as the image feature amounts. |
