Oscillation Characteristics on Reflection Type of Self-injection Locked NRD Guide Gunn Oscillator with TEM Type Metal Rod Resonator at 60GHz

(in English) In the former-fabricated reflection type of self-injection locked NRD guide Gunn oscillator with the metal rod resonator, the first higher order mode in the metal rod transmission line has been applied. However, the length of the first higher order mode type metal rod resonator was about 10mm at 60GHz, which is difficulty to miniaturize the oscillator. To realize the cost-effective and miniaturized oscillator at 60GHz, the reflection type of self-injection locked NRD guide Gunn oscillator with the TEM type metal rod resonator was examined in this paper. First, the eigenvalues of the TEM type metal rod resonator supported by the dielectric pieces were calculated, and it was verified that the TEM type metal rod resonator had the high un-loaded Q-factor of 1900. Finally, the oscillation characteristics on reflection type of oscillator loading the TEM type resonator and phase-noise were calculated. From the results, it was verified that the stably reflection type of oscillator can be composed.
