[Invited Talk] Analog to Digital Conversion Technology for Software Defined Radio

(in English) A progress of Analog to Digital converter (ADC) technology is vital for realizing Software Defined Radios and Cognitive Radios, as well as that of RF circuit technology. This talk will show the basic progress and the performance trend of ADCs and discuss the technical points and possibility. Also, the ADC technologies which are being developed in our laboratory are introduced. The accuracy of ADC is degraded and the power consumption is increased along with increase of signal band width, thus the required specification for the wireless communication should be determined carefully. The clock jitter of the ADC degrades the performance and it should be lowered to 0.1 ps. The scalable ADC which can be used for multi-standard wireless systems with lowest power consumption is possible and the use of the time-domain signal processing is effective to the GHz conversion ADC. Finally the programmable analog technology which can generate layout pattern automatically based on the orderly layout pattern has high possibility in future analog core design.
