Compressed Sensing-based Channel Estimation Scheme for LTE-Advanced Downlink MIMO System

(in English) In OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems, time-domain channel estimation approaches can achieve better estimation performance than frequency-domain approaches by reducing the number of parameters to be estimated. However, the frequency-domain approaches are widely used in the channel estimation for LTE (Long Term Evolution)-Advanced systems using DM-RS (Demodulation Reference Signal) because of the impact of UE (User Equipment) specific precoding.
In this paper, we propose a channel estimation scheme for LTE-Advanced system based on compressed sensing. Taking advantages of the fact that typical channels of LTE-Advanced downlink are composed of small number of dominant taps, compressed sensing enables us to take the time-domain approach for the estimation using DM-RS. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is confirmed through computer simulations.
