On Simplification of Clipped Signal Sending Scheme for SDM-PON

(in English) We previously proposed the Subcarrier Digital Modulation Passive Optical Network (SDM-PON), and showed that its feasibility using the proposed clipped signal sending scheme along with the method for restoring the original signal; the received electrical signal is first passed through BPF, and split in two signals. The one is shifted by (2k+1) (k: integer) equivalent delay, reversed in amplitude, and added to the other one. The resultant signal is passed through the second BPF. To simplify this method this paper investigates the method that uses just one BPF. We first evaluate which of Bessel, Butterworth, and Chebyshev BPF is most appropriate. Based on the result we verifies performance of 16-QAM based SDM-PON system that supports up to 8 ONUs for equal distances of 20 km, and different distances of 2 km to 21 km using the clipped signal sending scheme with the method. We also show those of SDM-PON with 16 ONUs for the same distances of 20 km.
