Performance of Decision-Feedback Channel Estimation Using SFBC for TDM Based Control Signals in OFDMA Downlink

(in English) This paper presents the average block error rate (BLER) performance of time division multiplexing (TDM) based control signals with space-frequency block code (SFBC) employing decision-feedback channel estimation (DFCE) for orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) downlink. In the DFCE method, channel estimation accuracy is improved by using soft-symbol estimations of the control signals based on the extrinsic log-likelihood ratio (LLR) at the soft output Viterbi algorithm (SOVA) decoder output for convolutional coding in addition to reference signals (RSs). Computer simulation results that the loss in the required average received signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) satisfying the target BLER of the DFCE from that using all the RSs within a subframe is suppressed to a slight level for control signals with SFBC in low-mobility environment.
