[Special Talk] Expansion of Wireless Communications for Social Infrastructure and Their Technologies -- Development of Low-Power Radio Systems for Machine-to-Machine Communications --

(in English) There has been a great demand for wireless communications for social infrastructure. A low power radio is used for machine-to-machine communications to connect the equipment appearing in various life scenes. We have developed low power radio devices for a smart-meter (Automated Gas-Meter Reading), home-network and wireless interlocking residential fire alarm systems. An ultra-low power consumption RF-IC has achieved a long battery life of more than 10 years, with a continuation of two-way communication link. Further, an electric and magnetic current-excited loop antenna has been developed to realize a built-in antenna providing potential applications to household appliances with different body structures. Using these technologies, we have achieved wide radio communication coverage over the whole house.
