Measurement of event-related potentials elicited by tactile discrimination in active touch by using pressure sensors

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We proposed a method for measurement of event-related potentials elicited by tactile discrimination in active touch. We measured event-related potentials (ERPs) while a subject performed a tactile discrimination task. In the task, the subject was presented different types of material textures in a random order in an oddball paradigm, and discriminated the textures by active touch with a finger. Onsets of finger movement in the active touch were measured by pressure sensors. By aligning the ERP waveforms to the onset, we observed a P300 response elicited by the tactile discrimination in active touch.
