This report investigated a data transmission system with spread spectrum modulation in a magnetic field resonance wireless power transfer system. Recently, many studies have investigated wireless power transfer systems for transferring electric power without cables. This report focuses on magnetic field resonance that is one of wireless power transmission techniques. An experiment system that shares the antennas for power transfer as well as data transmission is experimented. The transmission coefficients are measured when the axes of the antennas are not aligned. Spread spectrum (SS) modulation is employed and the bit error rate is evaluated when the SS signal is transmitted between the antennas. Although measured values of transmission coefficients decrease by about 5dB as compared to the theoretical values, both curves have similar frequency characteristics. As the distance between the antennas increases, the bit error rate reduces. This is because the larger distance between the antennas makes the transmission bandwidth narrower, the interference caused by delayed waves deteriorates the performance. Compared to the theoretical curve, the measured bit error rate is approximately 2dB worse. This difference is owing to the errors on channel estimation or on frequency offset compensation. |
