A Routing Method Considering the Remaining Battery Power for Multimedia Communications in MANET

(in English) MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) is attracting attention as a useful means of communication in times when the communications network infrastructure has been disrupted by a widespread disaster. It would be convenient if the SIP application that users are already familiar with and that is installed in his/her mobile terminal could be transformed into a node in a MANET automatically. However, in multimedia communication, the battery expires during communication by reduction of the remaining battery power of the relay terminal is accelerated, the communication quality degrades. In this paper, we propose a routing method that takes into account the remaining battery power for multimedia using SIP in MANET. Specifically, by specifying in advance the call time, we have proposed a method that can be routed only terminal having the required battery power. We implemented the proposed routing scheme into the MANET emulator, and confirmed the effectiveness.
