Analytical study for improvements of teaching behavior estimation model using students' evaluation of each lesson

(in English) Most of universities in Japan conduct students' evaluations. The purpose of the students' evaluations is teaching improvements. However, the evaluation are just a subjective evaluation by students, so that teachers can't understand which part of their teaching behaviors to be improved if they received the results of the evaluations. To deal with this issue, the authors suggested the teaching behavior estimation model, which can estimate teaching behaviors from student evaluations of each lesson. In the previous research, we built the model based on the assumption that not only teaching behaviors are uncorrelated, but also students' evaluation items are uncorrelated. However, the assumption was not verified. Our research suggests new teaching behavior estimation model that represents correlation between factors of teaching behaviors and factors of students' evaluations. We conduct canonical correlation analysis between two kinds of factors. As a result of analysis, correlations are observed.
This result shows that it is possible to construct the teaching behavior estimation model based on factors of teaching behaviors and that of students' evaluations.
