In an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, a guard interval (GI) is used to remove the inter-symbol interference (ISI) due to a multipath fading channel. However, the throughput is decreased due to the GI. Thus an optimal length of the GI is required to be set according to the channel environment. In this paper, we propose GI control method for MIMO-OFDM systems. The GI control estimates a maximum delay of the multi path from the estimated impulse response of the channel. Then, an optimal GI length is decided. |
