An application data segmentation method of Cell Broadcast Service in mobile networks

(in English) Utilization of Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) used for public warning information deliveries in current mobile networks is considered in some information delivery to the M2M devices which are being increased in recent years. CBS is able to send some message to a lot of M2M devices efficiently by using broadcast. However, because current CBS have not assumed a delivery of big application data from the original use, a data segmentation function is not supported. Furthermore, because the control information in application data used for message reception judgment by receiving device is often needed to include to each broadcast message, in the segmentation of broadcast message, that control information occupied in each segmented message becomes larger. In this paper, we propose efficient application data segmentation method for CBS which includes the control information used for reception judgment in some certain segmented message. When comparison of the traffic amount and number of messages by using formula for analysis between the proposal method and the simple segmentation method assumed in the past, it was confirmed that the delivery efficiency of the proposal method to the usual method becomes high so that the application data size was large.
