A NAV Period Control and CW Control of an Access Point for Keeping Transmission Opportunity and Achieving Fairness in Wireless LAN

(in English) In this paper, we propose a dynamic NAV control method to suppress excessive traffic of EDCA terminal that generates TCP or UDP traffic with small contention window size in case that EDCA terminals and DCF terminals coexists in the same AP. In the propose method, two kind of the fake period are prepared to increase the downstream traffic of AP. We also adapt appropriate size of CWmax for AP to ensure opportunity of downstream transmission with reducing collision between an upload frame and a download frame. We evaluate performance of the proposed method by simulation experiments, and show that the proposed methods achieves fairness between upstream and downstream of the proposed terminals.
